Hello every one, I hope you are all doing ok.
I am just writing a quick journal to say that I will be popping to DA at random times, but aim to upload new art at least once a week, unless college work becomes too much to juggle.
Anyway, I had my first performance on Thursday 10th November 2016 and I am proud to say that it went very well.
Every one gave it their all and our very twisted storyline was one that the audience had to piece together as the story went along. The stage play was only 40 minutes long, but was a piece completely devised by my class, my teacher and myself. I am happy to say that the audience fully enjoyed it and that they were indeed able to piece the story together once the ending scene had brought the play to a close. I had the exciting roles of a Circus puppet/clown and a head nurse. My nurse character was originally supposed to be a tyrant who patients called the Devil lady, however a few days before the performance, my teacher scrapped his idea of my character being evil and made me a bubbly character instead and of course my Puppet/clown character was extremely creepy with a hint of cute added in for good measure haha XD
I must say, it felt so wonderful to be up on stage in a round setting so that I could move around more freely too. I felt so confident up on stage and loved every single minute of it! I am also pleased to tell you all that our next performance has already been decided. We shall be performing a play called Clockwork Orange. I have heard it is very grotesque and violent, but then again, our devised piece that we just finished performing was pretty messed up sooo.....
The day after my performance, I had to endure a trip to the dentist...ugh...I hate going to the dentist, but I needed this appointment urgently. My top right Molar had a huge crack in it where the tooth had collapsed and came off, exposing my nerve. I lived with that issue for a little under a year, but then I decided to change dental practices because my old dentist had left. I visited the new dental practice and they x-rayed my tooth, giving me one of two choices...a root canal or an extraction. I have heard that root canals are not too enjoyable, so I decided to go for the extraction. I hated every second of it.
The dentist was so kind and gave me excellent service though!
First things first, I was lay back in the chair and numbed with a strong anaesthetic. I waited a while and my mouth numbed and then she checked I was numb, but I could still feel the metal instruments, so she gave me a second injection. I waited a little longer and then my surgery began. The tooth was stubborn and the blood was enough to be appropriate for a horror movie. Anyway, she got about a quarter of the way through when I began to feel pain again, so another injection was given to me. She began to try and pry it out again, but she said it was a very difficult tooth, so she waited a while, saying the tooth needed to relax so it would be easier to get out. So, there I was, lay in the chair almost vomiting as I could feel my tooth half pried out of my jaw. She then had to numb me up again and even suggested sedation, but I declined her offer as the tooth was half way out anyway. So again, she pried and pulled, whilst the assistant held my head in place. It took a further 10 freaking minutes for that little bleeder to come out! But finally, it was over. She held the tooth up to me and pulled an expression of shock, "Young people like you usually have more flexible bone structures, but your roots are very long, narrow and curvy. The roots on that thing were huge!! It bled quite badly for 2 hours and I will skip all of the gory details that happened whilst in the car home, but I can say with all of my heart and soul that I am so glad that it is over. It sounds silly but, I am pretty drained from it and I sound pretty weird when I talk, but a plus side to all of this is that I have actually managed to rest properly and get some deviations done hehe.
